James Jordan, 43, said he trusted his followers for advice and asked if any of them had a solution to tennis elbow. The condition causes pain around the outside of the elbow. It’s clinically known as lateral epicondylitis.

In view of his 277,000 followers, he wrote: “I’m always asking for advice on Twitter because I believe you often get more honesty than anywhere else.

“On that note – anyone have any suggestions for tennis elbow.

“Suffered with it for 15 years on & off but now the continuous pain is getting to me.

Many of James’ fans flocked to his post to share their thoughts.

A third added: “My husband had tennis elbow a few years ago James, he was given an injection and he hasn’t had a problem since.

“Hope this is helpful for you.”

According to the NHS, tennis elbow will get better without treatment (known as a self-limiting condition).

It says it will usually last between six months and two years.

The most important thing to do is to rest your injured arm and stop doing the activity that caused the problem.

There are also simple treatments to help with the pain, like holding a cold compress, such as a bag of frozen peas wrapped in a towel, against your elbow for a few minutes several times a day.

It’s not the first time James has taken to Twitter to ask for suggestions.

Earlier this year, the ex Strictly Come Dancing professional said he was looking for tips on how to lose weight after gaining three stone.

He wrote: “I’m trying to run although I’m suffering with my hip and shin splints.

“Anyway… can anyone recommend a really good reliable heart rate monitor?”

He went on to say he was determined to get back into shape, adding: “No more excuses, we have to be tough and push ourselves out of our comfort zone.

“The longer I leave it the harder it will be. You can do it xxx,” he added, in response to a Twitter user.
