#Roommates, we are all saddened by the sudden death of legendary actor John Witherspoon just a few weeks ago, but fortunately we still have his iconic movie and television roles to keep his memory alive. Another way to honor him might be that an old friend replaces his character at the next reboot of “The Boondocks” – this friend would of course be the favorite of all, Jenifer Lewis.
Although its first date is more than a year away, fans are still eagerly awaiting the fifth season of the popular animated series “The Boondocks”, which has just received an order for 24 episodes over two seasons with HBO Max. However, there is a feeling of sadness surrounding the return of the series, because one of its essential characters will no longer be part of it. This character is Granddad, who was voiced by the late John Witherspoon.
Proving that social media is full of good ideas, a Twitter user recently released his casting theory about who could fill Witherspoon’s void – and fit in perfectly with existing characters:
“Imagine it: Grandpa dies at the opening of the Boondocks’ fifth season and the boys are sent to live with his grandfather’s sister: played by Jenifer Lewis. It’s the only one I can think of keeping this same energy. “
That’s right, her suggestion of the brilliant Jenifer Lewis is not just a fantastic idea … but it’s also an idea she agrees with. She replied to the tweet with this:
“Thank’s everyone. I’ll check. It would be fun. My John Witherspoon misses me. He gave us so much love and laughter.
So there you have it! We do not know about you, but we are totally there for that!
Roommates, what do you think of this?
