Jeremy Clarkson, 60, hosted his new show It’s Clarkson On TV over the weekend and took the opportunity to make a fresh swipe at Meghan Markle, 39. The former Top Gear host referenced the Duchess of Sussex’s interview with Oprah Winfrey about the Royal Family, as he said it appeared her “pants really were on fire”.
Piers Morgan had a point
Jeremy’s new TV offering saw him “unpick popular TV events and unearths wonderful hidden gems, with an eye for detail and a rogue sense of humour”.
The 60-year old could not resist playing a clip from Meghan’s interview with Oprah which aired on ITV last month.
He introduced the clip by saying: “Meghan Markle was interviewed by Oprah Winfrey… there was a moment where Meghan Markle seemed – how can I put this politely – break wind.”
With the sound of a fake audience laughing, the clip ran and was a snippet of Meghan discussing a time after her wedding to Prince Harry and Oprah responding.

“Sorry can we just hear that again because it really does sound like Piers Morgan had a point, her pants really were on fire!” Jeremy continued.
As the sound of an audience laughing hysterically continued to play, he added: “Now I’ve had a note here from the legal department at ITV.
“They want it to be made plain that that was not a fart, I have no idea how they know that.”

The outspoken broadcaster stated he firmly stood behind his comments on the Duchess of Sussex and refused to back down on his strong opinions.
He wrote: “ITV executives suggested to me that I should now issue an apology to calm things down.
“But I don’t believe Meghan, so why would I apologise?
“As I mused over this conundrum, GMB’s ratings for yesterday came in and were the highest in our history, breaking a new record we set only last week.
“The show’s on fire, in every sense. But the flames are now raging uncontrollably towards me,” he added in his Mail on Sunday column.
To make matters more “serious”, Piers then received a message from “old foe” Jeremy, who was also sceptical over Meghan’s comments to Oprah.
The ITV star continued: “To compound my growing twitchiness, I got a text from my old foe Jeremy Clarkson that read, ‘I am completely on your side’.
“Oh s**t. This must be more serious than I thought.”
