LONDON: New Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus scored two goals and contributed two more to lead Arsenal to a 4-2 victory over Leicester City and continue their strong start to the season in the English Premier League on Saturday. Under the strong north London sun, the Brazilian Jesus, arrived from Manchester City quest’summer, he made an excellent performance, scoring two goals before half-time, and in more than one occasion has come close to adding more. On his first appearance at Emirates Stadium after moving to Arsenal, Jesus opened the door for his club in the 23rd minute, then he scored 2-0 with a close range header in the 35th minute. James Madison brought hope back to Leicester and narrowed the difference with a tight-angle shot between goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale’s legs, but the host responded quickly again and Gabriel Martinelli scored after the Jesus pass. And the team of coach Mikel Arteta, who won 2-0 at Crystal Palace in opening the competition, have six points in the first two rounds, and are second in goal difference from leaders Manchester City, while Leicester have one point.
