Jonathan Isaac Injury Update: Magic Forward Expands From Floor To Left Knee

Magic frontman Jonathan Isaac was in the process of making one of his trademarks explosive on Wednesday against the Wizards when his knee seemed to bend.

Isaac stayed on the ground for a long time before stretching from the floor with what the team announced was a raised left knee. The extent of his injury is still unclear and will likely undergo tests soon to determine the level of injury to his leg, but his inability to get up was a sign of that.

The injury occurred after Isaac stripped Bradley Beal, stepped down from the floor and went up for a layup. He is involved with Beal, who was forced to question the shot and collapsed on the pitch.

Isaac, 22, was a defensive monster this season. The average is 1.6 steals per game and 2.5 blocks per game. It is considered the most promising piece of a Magic team trying to break a lasting cycle of mediocrity since Dwight Howard’s departure about a decade ago.

Orlando has been no stranger to serious lower body injuries in recent years – Aaron Gordon’s brother has been dealing with knee problems throughout his career and has now been sidelined with Achilles’ injury.

The Magic (14-19) recently got center Nikola Vucivic behind a leg injury.
