Jordan beats Saudi Arabia in Arab Cup

Doha: the Jordanian national team beat their Saudi counterpart 1-0 today, Wednesday, in the first round of group C of the Arabian Football Cup, in course in Qatar. Mahmoud Mardi scored Jordan’s only goal in the 62nd minute. The game saw both Ihsan Haddad, a Jordan player, and Khalifa Al Dosari, a Saudi Arabian defender, being sent off. The decision to send Ihsan Haddad came in the 53rd minute after a strong intervention against Turki Al-Ammar, while Al-Dosari received a second yellow card due to a similar intervention against Baha Faisal, a Jordanian player. In the second round, the Saudi team will face the Palestinian counterpart, while next Saturday the Jordanian team will face Morocco. (Dpa)
