Jordan intends to apply for a vaccination certificate to enter public institutions

The Jordanian government, led by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh, discussed the recommendations of the framework committee to address the Corona epidemic relating to developments in the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom.

The Minister of State for Information, official spokesman for the government, Faisal Al-Shboul, announced that, in the next few days, a new defense ordinance will be issued, pursuant to the Defense Law n. (13) of 1992, To cope with the epidemiological situation that is witnessing an escalation in recent times.

Al-Shaboul explained in statements to the Jordan News Agency that the new defense order will include a number of procedures, including the adoption of the Corona vaccine certificate (two doses) as the sole condition for workers and auditors of all official and public departments and private sector facilities ; Since the beginning of the new year 2022.

And he indicated that during the session, the Prime Minister instructed the competent authorities to strengthen control and intensify inspection campaigns on all public structures and private, to ensure compliance with safety and prevention measures, from wearing masks, to physical distancing and more.

Al-Shboul added that the new measures include urging citizens and all residents of the Kingdom, who are over 18, in particularly the age group over 50, to receive the third booster dose of the Corona vaccine.

The procedures also provide – according to Shboul – the circulation to parents to obtain their consent (optionally) to vaccinate the age group between 12-17 years.

He indicated that the Prime Minister urged all competent authorities to strictly implement the defense orders, notifications and instructions issued in on the basis of the same, as regards the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom.
