Jovic’s goal leads Serbia to victory over lackluster Sweden

STOCKHOLM: Luka Jovic scored a goal in the first half to lead Serbia to a 1-0 victory over host Sweden in Group D at the second level of the European Nations League on Thursday, while Sweden suffered their second consecutive defeat in home after another lackluster performance. Guests pass in The lead just before half-time when Strahinya Pavlovic heads Jovic from a corner kick, who with intuitive agility puts the ball behind Robin Olsen. Sweden were missing many key defenders due to injury and their attack seemed poor as he pulled a shot in leads, while Serbia held out to win. Serbia remained in second place in the group with six points, one point behind Norway, who drew 0-0 with Slovenia, bottom of the group, in Oslo. Serbia will visit Slovenia on Sunday, while Sweden will travel to Oslo to face Norway. (Reuters)
