Kevin Love joked that Ja Morant nearly ended his career with an impressive failed slam dunk attempt in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 114-107 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.
Morant jumped high in the air and came in contact with Love’s head as he almost jumped on it, with the two players ending up on the deck after the ball hit the rim.
Love later tweeted: “Ja almost ended my career with this dunk … this kid is something special.”
The Cavaliers coaches added: “Boy, I was so happy to lose this dunk.

“I looked back, I helped him up, that was the tip of the hat to him, that kid, it’s really special and you have to give credit where the credit is due and will continue to improve.”
Morant was also good for his failed attempt to add two points.
“He was on the road,” the prisoner said. “You have no cool spot if you lose it.
“I probably put it too much because it hit the rim.”
Jordan Clarkson led all scorers with 33 points off the bench in a second consecutive win for Cleveland (8-21).
