Kingdom and Ukraine Sign $400 Million Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding

In implementation of what was announced by the Kingdom in the middle of Rabi` al-Awwal 1444 AH, during a telephone call made by His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to His Excellency the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, to provide an additional $400 million humanitarian aid package to Ukraine His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, today attended the signing ceremony of an agreement and memorandum of understanding between the Kingdom and Ukraine, worth up to 400 million US dollars.

The agreement includes a joint cooperation program to deliver $100 million worth of humanitarian aid from the Kingdom to Ukraine The agreement was signed by Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, Royal Court Counsel and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Relief and Aid Center and Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister of Development of Communities and Regions of Ukraine Oleksandr Kupaku.

The memorandum of understanding also includes the financing of oil derivatives worth $300 million as a grant from the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Saudi Development Fund for Ukraine.

The signing of the agreement and the memorandum of understanding reflects the willingness of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support Ukraine and its friendly people in addressing the social and economic challenges the country is experiencing and to help mitigate resulting humanitarian impacts.
