Kingdom, Iran and China issue joint tripartite statement

A joint tripartite statement by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the People’s Republic of China was released today, which reads as follows: In response to the generous initiative by His Excellency President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China to support China in developing good neighborly relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and based on the agreement between His Excellency President Xi Jinping and each of the leaderships of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, that the People’s Republic of China will host and sponsor talks between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, wishing to resolve differences between them through dialogue and diplomacy within the framework of the fraternal ties between them unite, and in compliance with the principles and purposes of the charters of the United Nations and the Organization for Cooperation is lamica, as well as international conventions and standards, talks between the delegations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Iran were held in Beijing from 6 to 10 March 2023, chaired by His Excellency Dr. Musaed bin Muhammad Al-Aiban , Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet of Ministers National Security Adviser in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Mr. Demiral Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Saudi and Iranian sides expressed their appreciation and thanks to the Republic of Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman for hosting the dialogue rounds that took place between the two sides in the years 2021-2022. The two sides also expressed the their appreciation and thanks to the leadership and government of the People’s Republic of China for hosting and sponsoring the talks and their efforts to make them a success.

And the three countries announce that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran have reached an agreement which includes the agreement to resume diplomatic relations between them and reopen their embassies and representations within a maximum period of two months , and includes their affirmation of respect for the sovereignty of countries and non-interference in their internal affairs, and agreed that the foreign ministers of the two countries hold a meeting to activate it, arrange the exchange of ambassadors, and discuss ways to strengthen the relationships between them. to activate the cooperation agreement in security matters between them, signed 22/01/1422 AH, corresponding to 17/04/2001 AD, and the general agreement for cooperation in the field of economy, trade, investment, technology, science, of culture, sport, and youth, signed 2/2/1419 AH corresponding to 5/27/1998 AD

Each of the three countries has expressed its desire to make every effort to improve the pace and regional and international security.
