The Director General of the Public Labor Authority in Kuwait, Ahmed Al-Mousa, announced the approval of a conversion mechanism in work permit of the residence of those who are hired with commercial business cards in compliance with the provisions of Article (18), in so that tale mechanism complies with the decisions issued by the authority in about the transfer of labor from one employer to another.
Al-Mousa has indicated, according to what is published by the Al-Rai newspaper, that this is coming in response to the needs of the labor market in light of the repercussions associated with the Corona virus pandemic and to give greater flexibility to the transfer of work during the pandemic period, both in implementation of the directives of the Council of Ministers in matter, both in light of the coordination between the Authority and the Ministerial Committee for Corona Emergencies and the Ministry of the Interior.
Al-Mousa revealed on the sidelines of the meeting with representatives of the Kuwaiti Federation of School Owners private and cultural institutes and addressed the question, which in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior was reached an amendment to the automated systems on both sides, in so that work permits are issued and consequently work permits are issued to the owners of the business visits.He indicated that this mechanism was established on controls in act by the authority, including obtaining the approval of the Crown Emergency Committee, and consequently, it will be possible to convert the visa for a business visit in a work residence when the work permit is issued to the worker within the country.
Al-Mousa indicated that adopting the aforementioned mechanism would benefit from the transfer of workforce residency from knowledgeable people who are registered for the necessary business visits to employers, knowing that this depends on the current conditions for dealing with the Corona pandemic.
He states that the modalities of conversion of the residences of teachers hired as part of the commercial visits in Work residences were discussed, especially in light of the preparations in Course for the start of the new academic year, during a meeting with some representatives of the Kuwait Federation of Owners of Private Schools and Cultural Institutes, where they were informed of the coordination that took place with the Ministry of the Interior in matter.
