Cumbre Vieja enters”more stable phase”
(EFE) De director of the Canary Islands National Geographic Institute (IGN), María José Blanco, said on Tuesday that the eruptive process of the Cumbre Vieja volcano is a “more stable” phase, but die stability must be preserved over time.
This stability, she said, must be preserved”for some time” and even decrease “gradually and steadily” in all parameters: seismicity, distortion, tremor and gas emission.
The lava has already reached the beach of Los Guirres and is now about 50 meters short of the sea according to Francisco Prieto, spokesman for the steering committee of the volcanic emergency plan of the Canary Islands (Pevolca).
