Lamela wins the Puskas Award for best goal

Zurich: Argentine Eric Lamela won the Puskas Award for the best goal in the world for the year 2021 in the referendum of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA). The award was announced by Lamela today, Monday, during the FIFA ceremony, which took place as a virtual event at the FIFA headquarters in the Swiss city of Zurich, without the presence of the contenders for the various awards or guests for via of the crisis of the outbreak of the new “Corona” virus. Lamela became the first Argentine to win this award in its history, since it was first unveiled in 2001. Lamela won the award for his Arsenal goal against Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League on 14 March. (Dpa)
