LeBron James will be evaluated daily in front of the Los Angeles Clash with the Clippers on Christmas Day, said coach Frank Vogel.
James was absent as the Lakers went down to the championship game at the Denver Nuggets on Sunday, with their third consecutive defeat. James was officially injured in his cage, with reports from ESPN suggesting that the All-Star, 15 times, is struggling with a persistent problem.
Vogel has recognized the importance of James and still hopes to be available for a Los Angeles Christmas cracker on Wednesday.
“Hopefully it will be available to us on Christmas Day,” Vogel said in quotations from the Los Angeles Times. “But we’ll see how he gets injured and whenever he comes back, we’ll definitely benefit from it.” LeBron is obviously a game-changing player. [has an impact] probably on all of these things. “
Anthony Davis gave up his role in trying to bring the Lakers without James, finishing with 32 points, 11 rebounds and one assist, while returning Kyle Kuzma put up 16 points in 22 minutes.
Davis himself suffered a fractured injury when he injured his knee in the third quarter, but managed to return to the game.
“I felt good enough to go back and play. We’ll see how he feels tomorrow [before he decides if I can play against the Clippers],” Davis said. “We have two days before our next game, so we must have enough time to recover it properly.
“But obviously the game is over, so let’s see how it feels overnight and hopefully nothing major will happen [I can] get some treatment and keep moving on Wednesday.”
