LeBron James Injury Update: Lakers star reveals re-injured groin loss to Clippers

The Lakers’ superstar, LeBron James, has suggested that he should re-injure his groin in his defeat to the Clippers 111-106.

James returned from a chest muscle as the Lakers competed against the Clippers at the Staples Center on Wednesday. The triple NBA champion, who lost his first game of the season on Sunday, was 9 of 24 from the floor and 2 of 12 from 3 points for 23 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds.

Speaking to reporters later, James – who had started his first season with the Lakers, had suffered a groin injury – said he was kneeling in the groin by Clippers thief Patrick Beverley.

“I felt healthy going into the game. The second or third defensive possession I got to kneel in the groin, taking a class from Pat Bev,” James said. “That kind of put me back to where I was five days ago.”

It was another disappointment for the Lakers (24-7), which collapsed in a fourth consecutive defeat. The Lakers lost to the Clippers (23-10) for the second time this season after throwing Opening night against Kawhi Leonard’s team.

“They stopped, they fired,” James said. “When we stopped, we were not able to get to the other end and shoot. We will watch the film in our next practice and see ways to improve.

“It’s been a long time, it’s a marathon, so, you know, it was a great atmosphere. We had a chance to win, but they did the games.”
