Liverpool overturns the fate of Milan

The English side of Liverpool started their campaign in the new season of the Champions League, with a difficult victory over visiting Milan (3-2) in an exciting game that brought them together on Wednesday evening.

English right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold opened the scoring for the Reds early in the 9th minute from the kick-off, after his ball hit compatriot Fikayo Tomori, the AC Milan defender, and changed course before embracing the network.

After just 5 minutes, Mohamed Salah missed the chance to double the score by missing a penalty when Milan goalkeeper Mick Magnan saved his ball on 14 minutes of half-time.

Milan responded with two goals in two minutes with Croatian strikers Ante Rebic and Spaniard Ibrahim Diaz respectively in the 42nd and 44th minutes.

Salah returns and at 49 ‘achieves a draw for the hosts, compensating for the wrong penalty.

Reds captain Jordan Henderson scored the winning goal for his team in the 69th minute of the match, which took place at the “Anfield” stadium.
