Liverpool’s crisis worsens after the assistant manager is infected with the Corona

The crisis of the club of Liverpool has escalated with cases of “Covid-19” among its ranks after the discovery of a test positive for assistant coach Pep Leanders, who raises doubts about the progress of the team’s match against Arsenal in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final – professional football final on Thursday.

“Leanders’ result, plus a series of suspected cases among players and coaching staff on Tuesday, led to the cancellation of the training session,” said a statement released Wednesday by Liverpool.

The statement adds: “Following the outbreak of the epidemic and the suspension of preparations, as well as several injuries in the squad, the club asked the English League to postpone Thursday’s match against Arsenal, knowing that the positive situation of the Leanders came after this request was made. “

“This request is still at studio”, he added.

And Liverpool’s German manager Jurgen Klopp missed the top match against Chelsea last Sunday due to Corona virus infection, and was replaced by Leanders, as well as other positive cases linked to Brazilian goalkeeper Alison, al his compatriot striker Roberto Firmino and Cameroonian defender Joel Matip.

Liverpool had submitted a request to the English League to postpone the match against Arsenal, especially as they also suffer from physical injuries to the Spaniard Thiago Alcantara, the Japanese Takumi Minamino and Nathaniel Phillips, in addition to the absence of the Senegalese trio Sadio Mane, of the Egyptian Mohamed Salah and Guinean Naby Keita to join their teams participating in the African Nations Cup.

Interestingly, Liverpool have decided to cancel the press conference scheduled for Wednesday on the eve of the game, which Leanders was supposed to attend.
