Liverpool’s Elliott resumes light training after a serious injury

LONDON: Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott returned to light training on Monday, two months after undergoing surgery after spraining his ankle in a Premier League match. Elliott was injured during Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Leeds United on 12 September after a violent intervention by Pascal Struck. The 18-year-old has left the field in stretcher before being carried in hospital. Elliott was photographed on Monday running on grass for the first time since his injury as Liverpool prepared to host Arsenal in championship Saturday. Liverpool are fourth in championship with 22 points in 11 games, four points behind leaders Chelsea. (Reuters)
