Manager on Twitter: Vision is blurry in company and the storm is coming

Twitter’s future looks uncertain after the departure of a slew of engineers who rejected Elon Musk’s new terms of ‘dedicated and unconditional’ work from the influential social network.

Former employees and different media Americans reported that hundreds of employees responded “no” to Twitter’s new owner’s ultimatum, which gave them the choice of working tirelessly to “build a revolutionary Twitter 2.0” or walk away with three months’ pay.

Half of the 7,500 employees were laid off two weeks ago by the billionaire’s decision, in addition to the approximately 700 employees who laid off over the summer, even before the acquisition was confirmed.

Peter Close, computer engineer e manager of Twitter, said on his LinkedIn profile: “My friends are gone. To get richer?

Like others working on Twitter, Close detailed his concerns, stating that he didn’t “hate Elon Musk” and wanted “Twitter to be successful.”

But he explained that there were only “three engineers left out of 75” who were on his team. He added, “Had I stayed, I would have had to work steadily non-stop with very little support indefinitely on complex computer systems that I have no experience with.”

He continued: “We weren’t involved in no vision, nor in the existence of a five-year plan, as in the case of Tesla. It’s purely a test of loyalty.”

Musk didn’t mind the chaos around him and wrote in a tweet on Friday morning: “What should Twitter do now?”

He then announced that several suspended user accounts had been reinstated on the platform, but he “hasn’t made a decision yet on Trump’s (former US President Donald) account.”

He wrote again on Twitter: “Twitter’s new policy is freedom of expression, but not freedom of access” to the public, promising to reduce “hate tweets” in future.

On Friday evening, Musk launched a new poll titled: “Former President Trump Returns? Yes/No.”
