Manchester United legend Dennis Law suffers from mixed dementia

LONDON: Denis Law, the legend of Scotland and Manchester United, has revealed that he has been diagnosed with mixed dementia. Born in Aberdeen, Low began his football career through Huddersfield, then played for Manchester City and Turin before moving to Manchester United in 1962. Low scored 237 goals in 404 games for Manchester United, but the former player nicknamed “The King” then closed the curtain: he is Scotland’s all-time top scorer with 30 goals. “I’ve reached a point in I want to be open about my condition, “said Low, 81, in a statement Thursday. He added: “I have been diagnosed with mixed dementia, which is more than one type of dementia, in my case I have Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia.” “It was a very difficult year for everyone and the long periods of isolation didn’t help much,” he noted. He concluded by saying, “It is a great challenge and a chronic disease, I have seen many friends go through it.” (Dpa)
