Manchester United takes revenge on Aston Villa and reaches the fourth round of the League Cup

Manchester (England): Manchester United advanced to the fourth round of the English League Cup following a thrilling 4-2 win over visiting Aston Villa on Thursday in the third round of the competition. At Old Trafford the first half ended 0-0, after the players of the two teams failed to translate in goals the chances had, unlike the second half, characterized by excitement, fun and goals from the first moment. Ole Watkins scored for Aston Villa in the 48th minute, but the visiting side missed his long lead after Manchester United drew with Anthony Martial in the next minute. Aston Villa moved forward again with a goal that came through friendly fire, after Manchester United player Diogo Dalot scored an own goal in the 61st minute. Manchester United soon drew again, after Marcus Rashford scored the second goal for the hosts in the 67th minute Manchester United found themselves in his favor at the end, after Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay scored the third and fourth goals for the aforementioned team (Red Devils) respectively at the 78th and 90th minutes. With that result, Manchester United avenged their 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa last Sunday at Villa Park in the English Premier League. (Dpa)
