Marshawn Lynch will officially return to the football field. He and the Seattle Seahawks have just signed an agreement, which will put him on their list again.
According to Sports Illustrated, news of Marshawn and the Seahawks reunion comes after news began to circulate that they were open to the meeting and that Marshawn had planned to meet with the team on Monday and also take a physical exam.
Agent Doug Hendrickson tweeted at the time and said, “My son @MoneyLynch is back! Boom, let’s go! The news of his contract with the team comes after two of Seattle’s backs were recently injured.
This is the second time that Marshawn has come out of retirement. He played with the Seahawks from 2010 to 2015 and won a Super Bowl with them in 2014. He retired after the 2015 season, but then applied for reinstatement in 2017.
The Seahawks traded him to the Oakland Raiders where he played for two seasons, but retired again after the 2018 season.
In addition to welcoming Marshawn back to the team, the Seahawks also signed Robert Turbin, who played with the team for the first three years of his NFL career.
