Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Game Directed by Amy Hennig Announced for 2025 Release
Marvel and Skydance New Media have just announced their latest collaboration – Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, a new game directed by Amy Hennig, known for her work on the Uncharted series.
During an Unreal Engine showcase at GDC, the game was unveiled, featuring Drew Moerlein as Captain America and Khary Payton as Black Panther. Scheduled for release in 2025 on unspecified platforms, the game promises an exciting experience for players.
The game’s synopsis teases a thrilling adventure: “In the chaos of war, worlds collide. Skydance New Media and Marvel Games present an original story where four heroes must put aside their differences to face a common enemy.”
Players will take control of an ensemble of four characters in this narrative-driven adventure. The lineup includes a young Steve Rogers as Captain America, Azzuri as the WWII-era Black Panther, Gabriel Jones from the Howling Commandos, and Nanali, leader of the Wakandan Spy Network.
This game marks the debut title from Skydance New Media, a studio established in 2019 by Skydance, a prominent Hollywood production company.
Studio president Hennig expressed her excitement about the project, stating, “I can’t think of a better partner than Marvel for our first game. The Marvel Universe perfectly captures the action, mystery, and excitement of the pulp adventure genre that I love. I can’t wait for players to immerse themselves in this original story filled with humanity, complexity, and humor that defines Marvel characters.”
