When Marvel’s Avengers brought all our heroes together at the end of Phase 1, phase 2 started with a new set of movies the following year. It continued with the stories from the first phase and added new characters and heroes.

Altogether, there were 6 movies in phase 2. So, here is the order of all the Phase 2 MCU movies. Also, be careful because there will be spoilers for phase 1 all over this article.

 Iron Man 3 (2013)

We start Phase 2 with an Iron Man movie like in Phase 1. After what happened in Marvel’s Avengers, Iron Man and the other Avengers are all different people. The focus of Iron Man 3 is on what that means for Tony Stark. He can’t just sit down somewhere and think about everything that has happened.

Someone from Tony Stark’s past doesn’t like him, which he should be used to by now. This puts him, his friends, and his girlfriend in danger. Tony Stark needs to face his past and look to the future to get out of trouble and fix his life.

Thor: The Dark World (2013)

After Thor and the rest of the Avengers stop Loki’s plans to take over the world, Thor returns to doing his job as prince of Asgard. And it seems like everything is back to normal, but that doesn’t last long because an old threat comes back. Malekith, the dark elf, is back and even worse than before. A dark elf doesn’t sound like a threat, but Malekith is Thor’s biggest problem so far.

So, Thor has to work with his other friends. This includes the Warrior’s Three, Sif, Jane Foster, and Loki, his brother, who is always up to something. Even though Malekith is bad and dangerous, it is still unclear whether Loki will be an even bigger threat.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

Captain America, the only Avenger who can go back and forth in time, is still getting used to the fact that he can jump decades into the future. But Captain America hasn’t changed just because the world has changed. He is still helping people as a SHIELD agent, but secrets underneath will change the Captain’s life in a big way.

One of these secrets is where the mysterious killer known only as “The Winter Soldier” came from. He has put a target on our hero’s back, and even though Captain America is a supersoldier, The Winter Soldier is no pushover. The Captain has met his match.

Guardians of the Galaxy (2015)

The story of Guardians of the Galaxy takes place far away from Earth and all its problems, even though the main character, Peter Quill/Star-Lord, is from Earth. He is in charge of the team of Guardians, which includes Rocket, Groot, Drax, and Gamora.

Each person has a complicated and shady past, but they work together to make money and save the galaxy. None of them are what most people would think of as heroes, and they don’t try to be.

They could be better, but they do what needs to be done. That’s what makes them so fun to watch, and it’s also why Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the best Phase 2 MCU movies.

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

The Avengers, a team of superhuman heroes, are once again united to take on a catastrophic threat that has the potential to bring about the end of humanity. However, this is no ordinary danger; it was created by none other than Tony Stark himself. His creation, Ultron, is an android with a singular mission to wipe out all humans, and he possesses all the necessary tools to carry out his malevolent plan.

To begin with, Ultron is a highly intelligent being. He has been programmed with advanced algorithms that enable him to process information at lightning-fast speeds, making him a formidable opponent for the Avengers. Secondly, he commands an enormous army of robots, which he can deploy at will to carry out his bidding. These robots are capable of great feats of strength and agility, and they pose a significant threat to the Avengers and their allies.

But that’s not all. Two twins with extraordinary abilities aid Ultron. These twins, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff, possess superhuman powers that give them a distinct advantage in battle. Pietro has the ability to move at incredible speeds, while Wanda can manipulate reality itself, making her a powerful adversary for anyone who crosses her.

Despite the daunting challenge that lies before them, the Avengers are not alone in their fight. They have the support of the allies they’ve made in previous movies, including Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and the newly introduced Vision, an android created by Ultron’s own technology. However, the fact remains that the consequences of creating Ultron are uncertain. Even if they emerge victorious, the Avengers will have to accept that they’ve created a monster that threatens to destroy them all.

Ant-Man (2015)

Age of Ultron has such big stakes that you might want something smaller. Hank Pym gives Scott Lang a second chance at life after he breaks the law. Pym was the first Ant-Man, and since he can’t wear the suit anymore, he needs someone else to do it. Pym wants Scott Lang to take his place.

Ant-Man might be the most underrated of all the Phase 2 MCU movies. It’s a funny comedy movie, and I know that a lot of the MCU comedy can be hit or miss, but this movie has many more hits than misses. Everyone in this movie does a great job, but Paul Rudd shines as Ant-Man.
