Marvel Phase 5 Movies and TV shows: Full List of Release Dates

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 are in theaters. This means that Marvel Phase 5 is now in full swing. But because there is so much more planned for this next phase of Marvel stories, we have yet to determine where we’re going next… This is especially true since we’re in the Multiverse Saga, which means, well, that there are a lot of different things that could happen.

The next movie in the MCU schedule is Secret Invasion, which will come out in June. It looks like the gritty spy thriller we’ve been waiting for since The Winter Soldier. A sequel to Captain Marvel also brings Ms. Marvel to the big screen. The Marvels: WandaVision’s Agatha is back in Coven of Chaos, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil is back on Disney Plus with Born Again, and the next Captain America movie is looking more and more like a Hulk crossover every day…

It’s also important to note that the release dates for Echo, Loki season 2, Coven of Chaos, and Ironheart have recently been changed from 2023 to the more ominous “coming soon.”

So, come with us as we go through the weird and wonderful Marvel Phase 5 lineup, including release dates, news about casting, trailers, and much more.

Marvel Phase 5

Marvel Phase 5 is full of movies and TV shows and lasts until the summer of 2024. Here’s what’s coming up next in this part of the MCU:

Secret Invasion

Secret Invasion Release date: June 21, 2023

Secret Invasion will be a scary thriller because aliens called Skrulls have come to Earth and can change their appearance. Samuel L. Jackson is back as Nick Fury, and Ben Mendelsohn plays the main characters as Talos and Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill. Ross, played by Martin Freeman, and Rhodey, played by Don Cheadle, are also back.

Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, and Kingsley Ben-Adir are all new to the cast. Behind closed doors at Comic-Con, a trailer for Secret Invasion was shown. In it, Fury came down from space to help fight the invading Skrulls. Ben-Adir seems like an evil alien, but we don’t think you can trust anyone in this show. Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel, has hinted that it will be a “dark” and “gritty” performance, and the official description for Disney Plus hints at a crossover event.

Armor Wars is also on the way. It will star Don Cheadle’s character Rhodey and continue what happened in Secret Invasion. Still, we are still determining when it will come out.

The Marvels

The Marvels Release date: November 10, 2023

In The Marvels, a follow-up to 2019’s Captain Marvel, Brie Larson is back as Captain Marvel. But, as the title suggests, she’s not on her own. Teyonah Parris will play Monica Rambeau again after making her debut in WandaVision. Ms. Marvel will also make an appearance, confirmed by Ms. Marvel’s post-credits scene in which Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan switched places with Captain Marvel. Samuel L. Jackson is also back as Nick Fury, so the Skrulls from Secret Invasion might have a part to play. Zawe Ashton, who was in Velvet Buzzsaw, will play the movie’s bad guy.

Echo

Echo Release date:  ( November 29, 2023)

Maya Lopez, who was first seen in Alaqua Cox’s Hawkeye, will soon have her show on Disney Plus. Echo is the adopted niece of Vincent D’Onofrio’s character, Kingpin. Echo shot him in the face the last time we saw Kingpin, but we know he’s okay because D’Onofrio’s character is back. Even better, Charlie Cox will play Daredevil. He has already played the role in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk. We don’t know much about Echo’s story, but it will pick up where Hawkeye left off. It will be about how she became who she is when she returns to her hometown after living in New York City.

Loki season 2

loki 2

Loki season 2 Release date: (October 6, 2023)

Disney Plus has announced a second season of Loki, making it the first live-action Marvel show to receive a renewal. The first season ended with Sylvie, an alternate version of Loki, killing He Who Remains, causing the multiverse to collapse. The upcoming season will likely continue where the last one left off, following Loki and Sylvie as they navigate the new reality under Kang’s rule. Sophia Di Martino will reprise her role as Sylvie, while Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw will also return. Jonathan Majors may return as Kang, and Ke Huy Quan, known for Everything Everywhere All at Once, has joined the cast.

Ironheart

Ironheart Release date: (Disney+ in 2024)

Riri Williams, aka Ironheart, is played by Dominique Thorne. In the comics, she was a young genius who made her version of the Iron Man suit. The hero was first seen in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but she will be back in her own Disney Plus show. Anthony Ramos will join her as the new bad guy, the Hood. Not much is known about the show at this early stage, but we can expect it to deal with Iron Man’s history. Check out If Beale Street Could Talk and Judas and the Black Messiah to see more of Thorne’s great acting.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos

Agatha: Coven of Chaos Release date: (Winter 2023)

Kathryn Hahn plays a witch again in Agatha: Coven of Chaos, just like she did in WandaVision, but this time she’s the main character. Hahn has said that the project is “exactly what I would have hoped and dreamed,” and Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Scarlett Witcher, has said that she would “love” to be in the show. We don’t know much about the plot, but it should tie up some loose ends from WandaVision and could show how Wanda survived what happened in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Joe Locke from Heartstopper, A xubrey Plaza, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Patti LuPone, and Debra Jo Rupp have all joined the cast.

Daredevil: Born Again

Daredevil: Born Again Release date: (Early spring 2024)

We live in a time called the Renaissance. Charlie Cox has acted in Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk, and Echo. Now, he will finally get his movie where he plays Daredevil. Born Again will have 18 episodes, which is a lot. However, it won’t be a live-action version of the same-named comic book, which has already been done in The Defenders Saga. Instead, it’s a good title now that Daredevil has been saved from Netflix’s cancellation pit and brought into the MCU in full.

Vincent D’Onofrio is also back as Kingpin. He was first seen in Hawkeye and Echo, and, likely, Echo will also be back, but that hasn’t been confirmed. Michael Gandolfini, who was in The Many Saints of Newark, Margarita Levieva, and Sandrine Holt, have also joined the cast. Holt will play Vanessa Fisk differently.

Captain America: New World Order

May 3, 2024

Captain America: New World Order Release date: (May 3, 2024)

Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, has finally gotten his movie. He became Captain America in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and now has his film. Julius Onah, who directed The Cloverfield Paradox, will be responsible for the new Captain America movie. Falcon head writer Malcolm Spellman and staff writer Dalan Musson write the script. Tim Blake Nelson, who played the Leader in “The Incredible Hulk,” is returning to the MCU. Danny Ramirez is also returning to play the same character he played in “Falcon.” Also, Harrison Ford will play Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross instead of the late William Hurt. The plot is being kept secret, but the title suggests that Red Skull might return to the MCU. Liv Tyler is also in the movie. She will play Betty Ross again, which she did in The Incredible Hulk in 2008. Could someone named Bruce Banner also be in the film? We might find out soon since they are now making New World Order.

Thunderbolts

Thunderbolts Release date: (July 26, 2024)

Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s role as the Contessa in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which came out in 2021, was the first hint at this shadowy group. At San Diego Comic-Con, it was finally confirmed that the villainous team would debut during Marvel Phase 5. Then, at D23, the full cast was announced: Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost from Ant-Man and the Wasp. Jake Schreier, who was in charge of Paper Towns, is in order of this movie.

Blade

Blade Release date: (September 6, 2024)

Mahershala Ali may have played Cotton Mouth in Luke Cage, but he now has a second role in the MCU. In the next movie, the Oscar winner will play Blade. Ali has already played Blade, though it was just a voice cameo at the end of the Eternals movie. The Ebony Blade, who was also in that movie, is likely to be in the new one. Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre from “The Underground Railroad” are both in the cast of “Blade,” written by Stacy Osei-Kuffour.

But the movie’s director, Bassim Tariq, quit just a few weeks before filming was set to begin. The movie isn’t being made right now, and it won’t come out on November 3, 2023, as planned. However, Tariq hasn’t left completely because he’s still working on the show as an executive producer.

A person who knows Ali has also said that he is unhappy with pre-production. “I’ve heard that the current Blade script is about 90 pages long and has only TWO (not very exciting) action scenes. Mahershala said that he was very upset with how things were going. Jeff Sneider said that Feige said that they were too spread out.

Yann Demange is now in charge of the show instead of Tariq. He has directed episodes of Lovecraft Country and Top Boy before. Production will start up again at the beginning of 2023.
