Matt Baker’s latest show Our Farm in the Dales, is off to a flying start and the 43-year-old couldn’t be more thankful for the endless support he’s received from his fans. He had previously revealed the show, which follows the presenter behind the scenes at his family’s remote 100-acre sheep farm in the Durham hills, had a “record breaking” first episode and it appeared to have hit it out the park once again for the second, leaving Matt bursting with pride.
Taking to Instagram following the success of the second installment of the four-part series, he penned an emotional thanks to all the loyal viewers who tuned in.
“Thanks to all who watched my family and I last night!!” he began.
“What a super response we really appreciate all your kind words.”
The caption was accompanied by a photo of him with a horse, who had helped them out of a sticky situation.

“If you missed it – this is Ole a North Swedish draft horse, he helped us shift a wind fallen Oak,” Matt continued.

Fans rushed to the comments section to share their joy at watching him and his wife Nicola and kids Luke and Molly, get stuck into life on the farm.
“A great programme, can’t wait for the next episode. Such a lovely family you have,” one wrote.

Of course, the whole show was born out of Matt and his family moving back to his parents farm to help out after his mum’s accident.

Throughout the series so far the former One Show host’s mum Janice, can be seen using crutches due to a previous accident when she was knocked over by one of her Hampshire Down sheep, and was left needing knee surgery.
In a recent interview, the presenter recalled his dad telling him of her injury.
“My dad told me that Mum had had an accident,” he remembered, “We went straight back home.”
Matt added: “I’ve never felt the need to step away in the way I did after the accident.

“The last thing you want is to see your parents struggling, and Mum was very vulnerable.”
And he admitted that emotion sometimes got the better of him and at points he found it hard to film.
“The hardest part for me was filming her in that situation,” he told Radio Times.
“I’ve never seen her like that.”
Our Farm in the Dales continues on More 4 on Wednesday at 9pm.
