Mbappé made history by scoring five goals during Saint-Germain’s crushing victory in French Cup

Paris: Kylian Mbappe became the first Paris Saint-Germain player to score five goals in one game, leading the team to a sweep via his host, Pays de Castel, 7-0 in the French Cup round of 32 on Monday. Saint-Germain reserved his place in the round of 16, after a remarkable brilliance from Mbappé, star of the French national team. Mbappe scored three goals (a hat-trick) in the first half, then scored twice in the second half. Mbappe opened the scoring for Saint-Germain in the 29th minute, and four minutes later Brazil’s Neymar added the second goal, then Mbappe scored back-to-back goals in the 34th and 40th minutes. In the second half, Mbappe ensured that the fifth and seventh goals for Saint-Germain were scored in the 56th and 79th minutes, and Carlos Soler scored the sixth goal in the 64th minute. (dpa)
