The organization said in a statement: “The use of the antidepressants fluvoxamine and colchicine, used in the treatment of gout, as well as in the treatment of mild to moderate cases of Covid-19 disease, is not recommended due to insufficient information and evidence. confirming that they improve the condition of patients. Both can be harmful.

WHO experts did not indicate the drugs that should be used in the treatment of severe cases of Covid-19, including due to lack of information.

WHO experts note that the recommendation for fluvoxamine is based on data from three randomized scientific trials in which more than 2,000 patients participated. For colchicine, it is based on data from seven studies involving more than 16,000 patients.
