Messi scores his first goal in Ligue 1 and lead PSG to victory over Nantes

Paris: Argentina’s famed striker Lionel Messi scored his first goal in the French football league, to contribute to Paris Saint-Germain’s precious 3/1 victory against Nantes today, Saturday, in the fourteenth stage of the competition. Saint-Germain raised his score to 37 points in head, 13 points ahead of Lens, the runner-up, and Nantes’ balance stopped at 18 points. Saint-Germain ended the first half in their favor, with a clean goal scored by Kylian Mbappe in the second minute. In the second half, Randall Colo-Moany scored the equalizer for Nantes in the 76th minute, while friendly fire brought in Saint-Germain led the way with a goal scored by mistake by Nantes’ Dennis Appiah in his team’s goal in the 82nd minute. Messi scored the third goal for Saint-Germain in the 87th minute, to be the Argentine star’s first goal in the French league since joining the team in the summer of questyear since Barcelona. (Dpa)
