Miami’s Jeff Thomas says he gets into NFL Draft, won’t play bowl game

Jeff Thomas is on his way to the NFL. The Miami wide receiver announced Friday that it will announce its 2020 plan and miss the typhoon cup game later in the month.

Thomas thanked the college’s coaches, Mark Richt and Manny Diaz, in his announcement.

Thomas will end his Hurricanes career with 83 receptions for 1,316 yards and eight touchdowns. He made 31 catches for 379 yards and three scores in 10 games in 2019 (postponed for two games in violation of team rules). He also served as a returning stretcher in his three seasons, with a high-profile career returning in 1917 in 2017.

Thomas returned to the program last spring after being fired by the team in November 2018 for violating the team’s rules. The Miami Herald noted in April that Thomas was returning to the blind after a transfer to Illinois that would allow him to play at home (he is from East St. Louis, Ill., Just outside of St. Louis).

Thomas, 5-10, 174 pounds, is not included in the latest NFL draft pick SN. other receivers are among the 32 options.

Miami went 6-6 in the regular season of 2019, Diaz’s first as a coach after Richt’s success. The Blues will play Louisiana Tech at Bowden Independence on December 26 in Shreveport, La.
