MLB The Show 23, a brand-new game mode,, and details about the first season were just announced. Find out about the storyline mode in MLB The Show 23 and watch a trailer for it below.
This new mode is called “Stories,” and it will take players on a unique story journey that follows the careers of league legends. During the first season of Storylines, The Show will learn about the Negro Leagues for the first time. When the season starts, eight Negro Leagues players will join the full team. They are:
- Leroy “Satchel” Paige
- Jackie Robinson
- Andrew “Rube” Foster
- Hilton Smith
- Hank Thompson
- John Donaldson
- Martin Dihigo
- John Jordan “Buck” O’Neil.
As noted on the PSBlog, this announcement comes with the news that the studio will keep working with the Negro Leagues for years.
MLB The Show 23 (Storylines Season 1 *) introduces eight Negro League Players and their stories, narrated by Bob Kendrick. With this multiyear partnership with the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, our goals align with the museums to educate, enlighten and inspire by celebrating the rich history of the Negro Leagues. Every new launch of MLB The Show represents a new Season, with it we’ll introduce a new group of Negro League Legends and their stories to pay rightful tribute to these mostly unknown baseball superstars. MLB The Show 23 represents the inaugural season and next year’s game would be season 2.
As a baseball lover, this is a great announcement, and I can’t wait to play this mode when it comes out, which is thankfully only around the corner.
