Activist, model and cancer survivor Mama Cax died at the age of 30 earlier this week. Her family announced on Instagram on Friday that she died after spending a week in hospital. She died on December 16 according to a Page Six report.
In the past, Mama has described his significant health problems, including “severe abdominal pain,” in addition to blood clots in the abdomen, thigh, and leg. She started experiencing symptoms in London, England, for a photo shoot.

According to several reports, Mama Cax, who is of Haitian-American origin, was diagnosed with lung and bone cancer when she was only 14 years old. Following her diagnosis, she had to have a hip replaced but the treatment failed, so her right leg was removed out of necessity.
Even though she had a physical obstacle, Cax’s career never slowed down. After finding work in a Wet ‘n’ Wild beauty campaign two years ago, she then started her partnership with Jag Models and started working with other brands like Olay and Becca Cosmetics.
Cax fans know she defended inclusion in the fashion industry and even participated in Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty fashion show in September this year. When it was revealed that Cax was dead, Rihanna was one of the first to express her grief.
In addition, stars such as Jameela Jamil, Nina Agdal and Iskra Lawrence shouted at the model after her tragic death. Glamor also expressed its condolences to Mama Cax on his Twitter page, describing her as “a crossroads of visibility and change in the fashion industry”.
In his Twitter message, Glamor linked an article in which Cax explained his modeling philosophy, which for her was about self-love. Mom said in the interview that it was about opening doors and making sure they stay open for others like her.
