Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s beta testing period had a relatively limited list of firearms for players to tweak and play around with. However, some users have checked out a slew of unreleased guns. Players have discovered a whole range of what looks like launch-day weaponry, which means that there may be plenty of variety in the full version of the game.

Namely, it looks like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 might have one of the most formidable weapon arsenals in COD yet, as the list of guns available in the beta isn’t even close to complete. However, some players have managed to get into offline match lobbies where they could equip and try out a more substantial selection of weapons than should’ve been available.

The most prominent examples come from Gianji90, whose post on Reddit shows off a variety of new guns, including the PP-19 Vityaz and its Bizon variant, the AK in its 103 and 105 configurations, and the Barret MRAD rifle. With that in mind, it’s also worth pointing out that these designations aren’t used in the game, as MW2 uses fictionalized variants of real weapons. Much like Venom Magnus’s earlier weapon handling video for Modern Warfare 2, Gianji90’s footage also goes over the weapons’ core functions and animations that players often see.

As exciting as the weapon reveals might be for fans of modern-day Call of Duty, not everything is perfect. Modern Warfare 2’s beta revealed issues that ought to be fixed ahead of the game’s late October release, and Infinity Ward hasn’t yet commented on all of them. Modern Warfare 2’s second beta begins on September 24, allowing PC and Xbox players to jump into the fray and see how the game is progressing.
