Moroccan Prime Minister and World Bank Operations Director Discuss Cooperation

On Monday in Rabat, Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Ahannouch held talks with Axel van Trotzenberg, Managing Director of Operations at the World Bank.

The talks were held with Axel van Trotzenberg, Managing Director of World Bank Operations, accompanied by Farid Belhadj, World Bank Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa.

The Prime Minister of Morocco indicated in a statement that “the meeting was an occasion to commend the cooperative relationship between Morocco and the World Bank Group, and to discuss ways and means to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two parties, and to review the structural and bold reforms undertaken by by the current government in accordance with the directives.”

The Prime Minister of Morocco praised the World Bank’s efforts to support and support development and modernization projects in Morocco aimed at implementing high-priority projects such as universal social protection, public sector reform and the continuation of sectoral strategies.

Ahannouche explained that Morocco is proud to host the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, which will be organized in Marrakesh in 2023, when they will again be held in Africa in half a century.
