Moroccan Sofiane Bakkali wins gold in the 3000m obstacle course

Oregon: Moroccan Sofiane Bekkali won gold in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, last night. El-Baqali added the world title to the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, which she won last year. El-Baqali ended the race in eight minutes and 25.13 seconds, ahead of the Ethiopian Lamecha Girma, while the Kenyan Conseslus Kipruto, who won the title in Doha 2019, won the bronze medal. Al-Baqali became the first non-Kenyan sprinter to win the World Championships and Olympic titles. (Reuters)
