AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho advised Swiss international Granit Xhaka to receive a Covid-19 vaccine after the Arsenal midfielder contracted the Corona virus last week.
The 28-year-old captain of Switzerland missed a friendly against Greece on Wednesday after testing positive for the Corona virus on match day.
A spokesperson for the Swiss team told local newspaper Blick that Xhaka had not yet received the vaccine. Mourinho wrote a comment to Xhaka on Instagram: “Get Granite vaccinated and stay safe”.
Reports have linked Xhaka’s transfer to Rome quest’summer, while British reports said Arsenal refused to let their player go.
Switzerland will play in home with Europe champion Italy in Group C qualifying for the World Cup on Sunday, before playing in Northern Ireland 9th September.
