Moves in Egypt to counter outrageous price crisis

The Egyptian government report says the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation has launched a convoy of mobile outlets to sell groceries at discounted prices to counter the high price crisis that is currently hitting the country.

The report states that the ministry sent a convoy to Beni Suef province, which included 27 vehicles loaded with all goods and food produced by the ministry, its farms and affiliated production agencies, to offer them to citizens at discounted prices that are lower than their counterparts on other markets from 20 to 40%.

Egyptian Minister of Agriculture Mr. Kassir also announced that feed requirements are being continuously released in agreement with the Central Bank. Over the past week, 135,000 tons of corn and soybeans worth about $91 million have been released.

This is stated in the message of the Center for Audiovisual Information of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation on the weekly collection of the most important events of the ministry over the past week from January 27 to February 2.

The statement refers to a meeting held by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouli to discuss mechanisms for maximizing the use of agricultural waste in the feed industry in the presence of Mr. Al Qasir.
