If you’ve been keeping up with Marvel’s latest projects, you already know that the next few years will be busy. There are many new Marvel movies and TV shows coming out, like She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel, but the most important thing is that a movie called “The Marvels” is set to come out in 2023. As the title suggests, we can expect to see Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rameau, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, the main character of Ms. Marvel. This means that this show is, in some ways, an origin story, but one that will have an immediate effect on some of the movie parts of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So, without further ado, here’s everything we know about Ms. Marvel, including how to stream it, trailers, the release date, and more.
- Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan
- Matt Lintz as Bruno Carrelli
- Yasmeen Fletcher as Nakia
- Rish Shah as Kamran
- Zenobia Shroff as Muneeba Khan
- Laurel Marsden as Zoe Zimmer
- Adaku Ononogbo as Fariha
- Mohan Kapur as Yusuf Khan
- Ali Alsaleh as Aadam
- Emanuel Perez as Mosque Bro
Ms. Marvel Release Date
The first episode will air on June 8, 2022, and there will be six of them. These episodes are scheduled to come out every week until July 13. It’s important to remember that this is just for the US. Other countries have different release dates. So far, everything we know points to Canada, Australia, and the UK having the exact weekly release dates, but Pakistan will show the series in theatres in two-episode blocks.
Ms. Marvel’s Where Will It Be Streaming?
In the US, the only place to go to watch the show is Disney+. In countries where Disney+ is not available, the series is likely to be shown on Disney+ channel partners.
Ms. Marvel Trailer?
As you can see from the trailer, the show is mainly told from the perspective of view of a high school student, with some word bubbles around the characters. We also finally get a good look at the bracelets that give Kamala her powers and at her using her “cosmic” powers, as she calls them. There are a few significant differences from how Ms. Marvel is usually shown. In the comics, she changes physical form instead of sending out cosmic energy like in the trailer. Since the MCU changed this part of the source material, it makes you wonder what else may be different in the upcoming series compared to the comics. The latest teaser was released on May 8, 2022, and you can see it here:
Ms. Marvel Plot
Ms. Marvel, as described by Marvel, is a superheroine “Kamala Khan, a 16-year-old Pakistani-American living in Jersey City, will be the focus of the movie. Kamala, a talented student, gamer, and fan-fiction writer, has a special love for superheroes, especially Captain Marvel. Until she gains powers like those of the heroes she’s always admired, allowing her to fit in better at school and home.”
We know from the comics that the bracelets that grant Ms. Marvel’s powers were given to her by her grandmother and that she has a strong bond with that side of the Marvel family. With this familial link, Kamala also tries to find the right balance between being a high school student, a lovely daughter, and a heroic heroine.
