MultiVersus Set to Return on May 28 with Exciting Updates and Improvements

Get ready, MultiVersus is making a comeback on May 28! Game director Tony Huynh announced the re-release date in a new video, addressing past criticisms and promising some exciting changes.

“We’ve listened to your feedback and taken notes from our open beta,” Huynh said. “At Player First Games, our goal has always been to create a platform fighter that you’ll enjoy as much as we do. We’ve been working hard on various updates to enhance the gameplay experience.”

Huynh revealed that the game will feature new characters, stages, improved netcode, and new moves for each character. MultiVersus has also made the switch to Unreal Engine 5, and a new PvE mode with unique rewards will be introduced.

Originally launched in July 2022 as an open beta, MultiVersus is a crossover fighting game featuring characters from Warner Bros. properties like DC Comics, Looney Tunes, Game of Thrones, Rick & Morty, and more. While the game had a strong start with over 20 million players within a month of launch, the player count declined significantly by February 2023.

One possible reason for the decline in players could be attributed to a lukewarm response to the second season, which lacked substantial new content. With the upcoming changes and updates, MultiVersus aims to win back players and deliver an even better gaming experience. Stay tuned for more updates on the game’s return on May 28!
