Musk announces distribution of advertising revenue to some content creators on ‘Twitter’

American billionaire Elon Musk announced on Twitter the distribution of advertising revenue to some content maker.

Twitter owner Elon Musk stated, in a tweet he posted to his Twitter account this Friday evening, “Starting today, Twitter will share ad revenue with select content creators, for ads that appear in chain tweets (porridge).)”.

“To be eligible, the account must be verified,” he added.

Last January, Elon Musk announced the availability of an ad-free version of the Twitter platform

Musk explained that he made the decision to address repeat ads on Twitter, saying, “Ads on Twitter are very frequent and steps will be taken in the coming weeks to address the issue of repeat ads.”

But Musk stressed that those who want to get an ad-free version of Twitter will have to pay a higher monthly subscription.

The new step represents a radical change in the model business of ‘Twitter’, which has so far relied on targeted ads to generate revenue, before launching the paid subscription service ‘Twitter Blue’ in mid-December.

An insider said that Twitter’s daily revenue is now in 40% drop from the level a year ago, with the company’s ad revenue in decline.

And the “Information” website quoted the source as saying that more than 500 major advertisers on the Twitter platform have stopped their ads since US billionaire Elon Musk acquired the platform last October.

The source added that the term “major advertiser” is usually applied to an advertising client who generates the majority of Twitter’s revenue.
