Naga Munchetty left blushing after Sir Tom Jones' admission ‘He called me love!’

Naga Munchetty, 46, and her BBC Breakfast co-host Charlie Stayt, 58, were interviewing Sir Tom Jones on the show today. However, the legendary Welsh crooner left Naga lost for words as he called her “love” at the end of their chat.

Sir Tom was appearing on the programme to promote his new album Surrounded By Time.

However, it was the 80-year-old’s farewell to Naga, which stuck with the BBC presenter after their chat finished.

After Naga wished him good luck, he said: “Thank you very much, love. All the best.”

Naga was thrilled by the nickname, swiftly telling both Charlie and weather presenter Carol Kirkwood about the moment.

The Voice coach spoke to the BBC presenters about what inspired his album as well as his late wife Linda during their chat.

At one point, he admitted she always used to give him feedback on his music.

Sir Tom explained: “Now this is the first album that I’ve recorded that she hasn’t heard.

“But I think she’d like it because I do sound like me on this one.”

He also added how he did think about what her reaction to it would be when he was working on it.

During his chat, Sir Tom also spoke about how he was on track to score a number one album in the UK charts.

The Welsh singer continued: “I’m thrilled to bits but we’ve got to wait until Friday night, until we get the official position it’s going to be in.

“I don’t count my chickens until they’re hatched so until they say on late Friday night, there it is, you know.

“But, it’s getting so much attention and people are really loving it, that’s the main thing, whether it’s number one or number two.

“Number one is always like, ‘Wow,’ especially now that I’m 80.

“I think I’d be the oldest one to have a number one album – if it happens.

“But I’m not counting my chickens yet.”
