BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Naga Munchetty, 46, sent a guest into a “mega panic” on this morning’s radio show, as she mistakenly said that the UEFA European Football Championship was starting in four days time. The host spoke to BBC senior football reporter Ian Dennis and BBC Wales football correspondent Rob Phillips as she addressed that the England team’s squad has yet to be submitted by manager Gareth Southgate.

Speaking on her radio show, the newsreader spoke to Rob about Scotland’s appearance in the league.
The guest emphasised that it’s the country’s first appearance in a major sports tournament in 22 years.
He said: “Anybody who’s not aware it’s Scotland’s first time in a major men’s tournament since 1998 and of course the added intrigue of that fact that they’re in the same group as England, Group D with the Czech Republic and Croatia.”
Chipping in, Naga counted down to the day she thought the tournament commenced.

She said: “On a scale of one to 10, Rob, Ian, excited?”
However, Naga’s guest politely corrected her mistake and informed her that that start date is actually over a week away.
