NEOM Green Hydrogen board appoints Edmundson CEO

NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) Board of Directors announced the appointment of David Edmondson as CEO of the company, which was recently launched as a NEOM subsidiary to help implement NEOM’s strategic plans that reflect its completeness and the future vision.

The “NEOM Green Hydrogen Company” is the product of the alliance of the three companies: “NEOM”, “ACWA Power” and “Air Products”, where the main objective of the company is to build the largest plant in the world to produce green hydrogen based on renewable energy by 2026. Using green hydrogen produced to power electric vehicles in NEOM, in so that green hydrogen is among a range of different clean energy solutions that NEOM seeks to adopt.

For his part, the CEO of NEOM and Chairman of the Board of Directors of NEOM Green Hydrogen Company, Eng. Nazmi Al-Nasr, said: “We are looking forward to starting with clear steps to achieve a quantum leap in the energy market. global, establish a circular economy while maintaining the standard of sustainability and working to obtain an abundance of resources, in balance with nature, to build a sustainable future for generations futureand this can only be achieved through skilled leaders working to achieve all of this, and David Edmondsen has been appointed to lead the incorporation phase of the company that is working to build the world’s largest green hydrogen plant, which will produce 1, 2 million tons of hydrogen per year. Interestingly, Edmundson’s career continued in Air Products for over 34 years, during which time he held various leadership positions in all over the world in the fields of engineering and gas production, including the Middle East.

His recent work with the company has focused on the position of Vice President for Transformation, as well as Vice President and CEO of the Jazan Gas Production Project, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Liverpool and an MBA from Kingston University.
