Netflix: Bridgerton season 2 is not coming to Netflix in July 2021

It’s been nearly six months since the premiere season of Bridgerton was released on Netflix, and I can’t be the only one who’s missing The Duke of Hastings so dearly, right? Half a year later and we’re still waiting on the edge of our seats to find out what will happen next to our favorite Regency Era socialites. Plus, will everyone find out about Lady Whisteldown’s true identity? There are so many unanswered questions we have for the second season!

The good news is that Bridgerton season 2 is in the works, and in fact, seasons 3 and 4, as well as a Bridgerton spinoff, have been announced! Looks like we’re far from the end of this sexy and addicting world! And while it’s been confirmed that Regé-Jean Page (The Duke) has unfortunately left the series, there’s still so much to look forward to. If you’re a fan of the book series the show is based on by Julia Quinn, you’ll know there’s tons more drama beyond Simon and Daphne’s relationship.

So, I’m sure you’re here for updates on Bridgerton season 2. We unfortunately come with bad news, friends, because we’re here to report that the second season is not hitting Netflix in July 2021. The streaming service shared their list of July new releases, and though exciting titles such as Outer Banks season 2 and Virgin River season 3 are included, Bridgerton season 2 is not.

Bridgerton season 2 release date

Although season 2 is not coming out in July 2021, we do have good news about the upcoming installment! As we previously reported in May, Bridgerton season 2 has started filming, so at least we know we’ll be getting new episodes at some point relatively soon. The release date is not currently known, but we’re expecting it to probably come out in 2022.

We were initially hoping Bridgerton season 2 would come out in December 2021 to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the show, however, we don’t think that will happen anymore. Earlier this year, Netflix released a shareholders letter that announced a handful of new releases for 2021, including You season 3, Sex Education season 3, and other popular shows. Unfortunately, Bridgerton season 2 was not on that list.

Netflix could surprise us with a 2021 release for the second season, but considering they are currently filming, it doesn’t seem likely.

We’ll keep you updated on everything we hear about Bridgerton season 2, but for now, don’t expect it to drop in July!
