Since its premiere in May 2019, fans of Dead to Me have grown used to new seasons of the series to bow just ahead of the summer rush. But since we’re quickly approaching the summer months, we’re all itching for news on the release date of Dead to Me season 3.
Unfortunately, we’ll have to keeping waiting to scratch that itch for Dead to Me season 3, since Netflix has announced its upcoming new release titles for June 2021 and the fan-favorite dark comedy wasn’t among the lot of shows and movies to look forward to this month.
But there’s still good news: Dead to Me season 3 is definitely happening. Even though the forthcoming season will mark the end of the series, we’re going to find out what’s next for Jen and Judy’s good run of bad luck in the third and final season.
While Netflix hasn’t yet announced when to expect the new episodes to hit our watch lists, we’re sharing everything we know so far about the Dead to Me season 3 release date.
Dead to Me season 3 release date
Dead to Me last dropped new episodes in May 2020, but the production schedule on the final schedule was obviously pushed back due to the pandemic. We’re seeing a much longer gap in between seasons than we’re used to, but that doesn’t mean new episodes aren’t coming.
Of course, the final season won’t be premiering on Netflix in June 2021, since production only got underway in May. The series’ creator Liz Feldman announced filming’s commencement with a photo on Instagram, and it’s expected to continue filming throughout the summer.
Given an estimated wrap date of late summer/early fall, the soonest we could see Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini back on our screens is during the holiday season. However, Netflix has quite the jam-packed slate in late 2021 with The Witcher season 2 and You season 3.
Until official word comes in from Netflix on the release date for Dead to Me season 3, let’s tentatively pencil in the action-packed swan song for early 2022. As always, we will keep you up to date on all news and updates regarding the hit series’ final season.
