Netflix: Is Hacks on Netflix?

If you have your thumb pressed on the pulse of pop culture lately, you might have heard about the new hit comedy series Hacks.

The series has consumed the online conversation and has already become a front-runner for the Emmy Awards, thanks to another excellent performance by three-time Emmy winner Jean Smart.

Hacks stars Smart as Deborah Vance, a Las Vegas comedian looking to freshen up her material in order to appeal to younger audience. She’s set up with 25-year-old comedy writer Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder), who in turn receives the mentorship of a lifetime.

Since Hacks has grown so popular in the online discourse, those who have yet to check out the breakout hit might wonder where to start watching.

Is Hacks on Netflix?

Unfortunately, it’s not available to watch on Netflix. The series isn’t on this particular streaming service because it’s an HBO Max original series, meaning there’s very little to no chance for Hacks to come to Netflix at a later date.

Even though the comedy sensation isn’t on Netflix, there’s plenty of other great comedy series with similar themes to watch on the platform, like The Kominsky Method, Grace and Frankie, After Life, Feel Good and many more.

Where to watch Hacks

As previously mentioned, Hacks is exclusive to HBO Max and only available to stream on that platform. The series first debuted on May 13, 2021 with a two-episode premiere and continued to air in weekly two-episode releases for the rest of its 10-episode first season.

Ahead of the Hacks season 1 finale on June 10, HBO Max renewed the series for season 2, which is expected to arrive sometime in 2022.

The series holds a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and comes from creators Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs and Jen Statsky, who are known for their work on Broad City. There’s no doubt we’ll be seeing them and Jean Smart on Emmy night.
