Sweet Tooth has become the number one show on Netflix, and many subscribers that enjoyed the first season are more than eager to know if that was the last chapter they will get to see of the streaming service’s original series.
The show, based on the DC Comics Vertigo title of the same name, has resonated very well with subscribers and has attained significant critical acclaim since its release on June 4, 2021. The story takes place in a posy apocalyptic future ten years after “The Great Crumble” devastated the Earth leading to the birth of hybrid babies that are half-human and half-animal.
In this world, humans fear these new beings and hunt them down. One hybrid named Gus, who is half boy and half deer, embarks on an epic journey with a lone named Jepperd to find answers and maybe change the world forever.
The Netflix original series is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes indicating any subscribers that haven’t seen it yet is in for an incredibly entertaining experience when viewing the first eight entries. The question that remains is whether or not this is the last fans will see of the Sweet Tooth saga.
Was Sweet Tooth canceled?
At this time, Sweet Tooth has yet to be renewed, but it is also important to take into consideration that it also has not been canceled. It’s still early days for the series, and news of renewal could come at any day now.
Being number one would make many think another chapter is guaranteed, but that isn’t always the case. Jupiter’s Legacy, another comic book adaptation on the streamer, hung out at the top of the charts for a while but got the ax, meaning no show is above cancellation on the popular service.
Sweet Tooth season 2 release date
If there are going to be more episodes of Sweet Tooth in the future, it will be interesting to see how long it takes for new entries to arrive.
It’s possible if the go-ahead was given for Sweet Tooth season 2 this year, another run could come out sometime in 2022. For now, fans will just have to wait patiently and see how things play out.
