Netflix: Is Sweet Tooth season 2 happening?

Sweet Tooth has become a chart-topping sensation on Netflix, and many subscribers are already eager to know whether or not there will be a Sweet Tooth season 2 in their future.

Based on the comic book by Jeff Lemire, the series stars Christian Convery as a half-human and half-deer hybrid, who embarks on a journey through a dystopian world with his companion Jepperd, played by Game of Thrones actor Nonso Anozie. Together they venture into the unknown to find out answers, and given how things left off at the end of season 1, it’s no surprise there is a demand for another chapter.

The fantasy drama has become a big hit with viewers and critics alike and is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, indicating it’s a worthwhile affair from start to finish. Fans are more than excited to find out what happens next, and it’s hard to argue about the anticipation for Sweet Tooth season 2.

Netflix is no stranger to keeping the party going for its heavy hitters, but reaching the top of the charts doesn’t guarantee a follow-up. Jupiter’s Legacy, another comic book-inspired series with plenty of fanfare, was ranked number 1 before getting cancelled.

Is there a chance Sweet Tooth season 2 will happen?

The program has not been officially greenlit for another installment, but it’s still very early in the show’s run—it just arrived on June 4, 2021. Since Netflix hasn’t officially cancelled the show yet either, that means things are very much still up in the air.

News of another season could come any day now, but fans should be patient moving forward; there’s no firm timeline on when Netflix has to make its renewal or cancellation decisions. If they move quickly, season 2 could come as early as spring 2022, or there might be a longer wait before there’s any clarity on whether or not the adventure will continue.

Stay tuned to Netflix Life for all the updates and news about Sweet Tooth season 2.
