Animation was the theme of today’s #GeekedWeek episode and we were treated to a number of teasers, trailers and announcements for new anime films and series coming to Netflix. Read on to see what we have been gifted with!
Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway
This new film, which arrives on July 1st, is a direct sequel to the 1988 movie “Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack”. After Char’s rebellion, Hathaway Noa leads an insurgency against Earth Federation, but meeting an enemy officer and a mysterious woman alters his fate.
Char’s Counterattack will arrive on Netflix on June 18th, along with the original trilogy of films.
This is a new series that follows shaman Yoh Asakura, a medium between the worlds of the living and the dead which arrives on August 9th. The fate of the world hangs in the balance as Medium Yoh Asakura joins the epic Shaman Fight, competing with other shamans in a bid to become the all-powerful Shaman King, while facing an opponent bent on disaster.
Heading to Netflix on August 26th, this new series is set aboard the Edens Zero where a lonely boy with the ability to control gravity embarks on an adventure to meet the fabled space goddess known as Mother.
The new space horror anime series is based on a new story by Hirotaka Adachi (aka “Otsuichi”), with character designs by Final Fantasy’s Yoshitaka Amano.
Make My Day
Introducing Make My Day, a new anime film coming to Netflix.
On a cold planet of ice and snow, mysterious creatures suddenly have appeared from the dark underground and have begun to attack the inhabitants. Can humanity survive the terror lurking beyond the horizon?
Bright: Samurai Soul
Izo, a Ronin, and Raiden, an orc, work to bring a young elf girl and the wand she carries to the land of the elves in the north.
Based on the Netflix movie, the anime film will be directed by Kyohei Ishiguro.
